Dawn and Jason in the southern hemisphere and back again!

This is our way of keeping all of you friends and family clued in to our whereabouts and adventures over the next years! Older posts deal with our 2007 sojourn in Australia, and now we're back in the States and making mischief. Stay tuned!

Edie's crawling, Devi's almost talking!

Hi everyone!
Once again, an unduly long hiatus in the blog posts. So be it?
We are making the most of our last few months in the Bay Area, planning our move to the East Coast (Kingston RI, here we come!) for right around July 25. Grandma and (hopefully!) Grandpa Cardace will come out for a visit to help us polish off any delicate packing and then we'll hope on an airplane for our new adventure. We move in to a great place near the University of Rhode Island on August 14/15, so will have a sojourn in NJ for a couple of weeks there. We are looking forward to everything, especially vivid autumn colors! Can't wait!

Edie has impressed us all by crawling and climbing like crazy, all of the sudden last week! I think this clip (at bottom) was filmed on May 8th, a completely delighted little crawler!

Devi continues to be a model, if periodically combative, older sister. =) She really wants to help drop off Edie in Edie's classroom at school each day, but I'm having to dissuade her--it really interrupts the flow of things for the infants! Little Westley (~11 mos old) always tries to play with Devi, and she says no thanks, and you can just imagine how that shakes down....

I think Devi's vocabulary is taking a turn for the better, though she slurs her pronunciation quite a lot. She demands to hold the garage door opener when we go on walks, and also asks for a cuddle quite endearingly. Just you wait!

Have great weeks, one and all, and we'll drop a note with more moving thoughts soon!
Take good care,
Dawn, Jason, Devi, Edie, and Roti

Oh guys!
The girls are getting so big! We were just talking about you guys the other day and wondering if you were still going to be in the Bay area towards the end of the year. Obviously, not. Bummer for us, but congrats to you guys! What's the new job/s like?
We think about you all often and hope you're going well!

Dawn, I've been following your lives through your blog, but I haven't written to you for a very long time.

It happened that this month some friends of mine (Orsi, expecting a baby, Fecó, her husband and Gergő, her brother) visit their brother (Isti) and his wife (Csibe) living and working in San Francisco and I thought what if I ask them to stop by you to say hello for me and they said it's OK! :) so -- do you mind a short hello from the mouths of strangers living close to me? You are not expected to give them accomodation (although I know you would find out something if needed), and they would never want to disturb, so should it be a pain in the neck for you, I will be satisfied knowing I could always reach you by email.

What I thought in case you are fine with it, I would give them your address and phone number to fix the time, or if they happen to be on their way to Berkely while you're not at home they might see you where you work or wherever else -- it's up to you.
What do you say?

I'm happy I wrote you now!
Love to you,
